Launching International Trade Skillnet

Josephine Feehily Revenue Commisssioner, Paul Stack Skillnet Steering Committee and Mary Meehan Skillnet Manager, at the launch of the International Trade Skillnet

Welcome to the International Trade Skillnet website!

The International Trade Skillnet will operate for the period January 2008 – December 2009.  Training will be aimed at sensitising Irish companies to the implications of regulatory changes in the field of international trade and to make sure that these changes will result in considerable gains in competitiveness to all member participants.  Single Window, Authorised Economic Operator, and pre-arrival pre departure will be important elements of the training modules. Ireland has around 15,000 companies involved in import or export, with four importers to every one exporter –  the majority of these companies need to be educated and prepared for all of these new changes.  We believe that this Skillnet will address the current training vacuum in these important areas.

This Skillnet will offer a host of activities which will be enterprise-led and funded by member companies and the Training Networks Programme, an initiative of Skillnets Ltd, funded from the National Training Fund through the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment.
